Homemade Flaxseed Crisps

If you haven’t tried making your own crackers yet, these flaxseed crisps are an easy way to get started. Made up of whole flaxseeds for a crunchy texture, these are the perfect crunch to eat solo or with your favorite dip or spread.  

Makes 10 servings at 1-1/2 oz each 

  • 1 cup flaxseeds 
  • 1 cup water 
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt 
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder 
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper 

In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients then cover and refrigerate for 24 hours.  

Preheat oven to 225 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the flaxseed batter evenly into a thin layer. Bake for 2.5-3 hours, until crisp, then turn off oven and cool. Break into cracker size pieces. Sprinkle with additional seasoning to taste if desired. Store in an airtight container for a week to 10 days.
